Our Beginning

Moving Forward Chicago started as a group of friends who gathered in a living room shortly after the 2016 presidential election to figure out ways to get more involved in effecting positive change in our community and our country. It has quickly grown into a group that supports and keeps each other informed of efforts to advance progressive causes. We are engaged in education, activism, volunteering and fundraising efforts in the Chicago area. If you are looking for a community like ours, please join us!

All are welcome.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
— Margaret Mead

Our Mission

Our Mission is to advance progressive causes at the local, state, and national level. We are currently focused on four goals: expanding voting access, supporting common sense gun control laws, protecting and advancing women's rights, and seeking environmental justice. Through our efforts, we aim to influence our elected officials so that they also champion our causes, ultimately leading to new laws that will meaningfully improve the lives of Chicago area residents.
